This position is located at USC Research Advancement in the Marina del Rey Office.

JOBACCOUNTABILITIES:

USC University Research Advancement is seeking a Junior Technical Grant Writer to join its team. This position will work closely with and assist other Research Advancement staff and USC faculty on the preparation of research grant applications submitted for funding to federal agencies.

Specific responsibilities include:

Assisting in the organization and production of grant proposals. Gathering and generating a broad range of documentation such as biosketches, descriptions of university resources, and descriptions of faculty research programs for inclusion in research funding proposals. Working closely with Research Advancement staff and faculty from USC and other institutions to generate text for inclusion in research proposals. 
Generating reports and analyses to generate collaborators and institutional partners for inclusion in grant proposals. These reports and analyses will span multiple disciplines in science and engineering, and will require comprehensive review of research profiles of USC faculty and individuals at other institutions. 
Reviewing solicitations and other documents from federal funding agencies and interface to exchange information and determine the form and content of information required for the application submission. 
Arranging and attending meetings, seminars, symposia and other events related to project efforts. Stays informed of developments in field.

Job Requirements:

Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. 
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or engineering.

 
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education

High school or equivalent

Minimum Experience

1 year

Minimum Field of Expertise

Knowledge of data collection procedures and some experience with proposal preparation and production of technical documents.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education

Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or engineering.
